Philanthropy is a core Kingsley value and the Annual Fund is the foundation of Kingsley’s fundraising program. As with most independent schools, Kingsley does not receive government grants or aid. Tuition covers 83% of each student’s experience. Tax-deductible Annual Fund contributions help meet the budget gap, fueling every aspect of every child’s Kingsley experience.
We aim for 100% participation among families and faculty and robust Annual Fund involvement is a Kingsley hallmark. Every gift supports our common goal to nurture resilient explorers, confident learners, and empathetic citizens.

Annual Fund FAQ
The Annual Fund touches every corner of campus life, providing the resources necessary to go above and beyond what tuition alone covers. Your gifts support:
- Academic Excellence: Programs like Fundations literacy and specialized classroom materials.
- The Kingsley Experience: Beloved traditions including Farm and Ocean Schools, Montessori Model United Nations, Kindergarten Marathon, Spring Tea, Grandfriends Day, and the Appalachian Mountain Club trip.
- Arts & Innovation: Technology improvements and our Winter and Spring Concerts and Visual Art shows.
- Facilities & Safety: Security enhancements and distinctive learning environments.
- Our Faculty: Professional development and competitive resources for our most important asset—our teachers.
The 6-week fall Annual Fund campaign launches with our annual Kickoff party, followed by personalized outreach to each household by the School and the Development Committee, and closes with the Donor Drinks celebration in early December. Giving Day in the spring is our final “race to the finish” for those who have not yet given. Final gifts and outstanding pledge commitments are due by May 31.
Participation in the Annual Fund is a key value in our community. Like most independent schools, Kingsley’s programmatic costs exceed tuition revenue. Unlike many peer institutions, Kingsley has no endowment from which to draw. Our generous community helps bridge the gap between tuition and the actual cost of a Kingsley education. This enables Kingsley to be more accessible to a wider range of economic backgrounds. Your gift also sends a distinct message of your support of and belief in Kingsley’s mission.
Each year, generous parents, grandparents, faculty, staff, alumni and alumni families, and other friends of the school demonstrate their belief in our mission and their enthusiasm for Kingsley by contributing to the Annual Fund. We are grateful for the vibrant community who enthusiastically supports our students.
Gifts of all sizes collectively have a tremendous impact on our students and teachers. We encourage current parents to make Kingsley one of the top philanthropic priorities. The earlier you make your gift, the sooner it can be put to use. You can pledge anytime during the calendar year and all pledges and final contributions to the Annual Fund are due by June 30. All gifts are important and we hope that all members of our community think carefully about their gift to Kingsley.
Yes. Gifts to Kingsley’s Annual Fund are fully tax-deductible. You will receive a tax receipt and acknowledgment for every gift you make to the Annual Fund.

Come one, come all! At this much-loved fall fête, Kingsley grown-ups, including parents, guardians, faculty, staff, and school leaders, toast the launch of our Annual Fund campaign and have a blast celebrating the start of another school year and the power of our community’s generosity. (October)
Donor Drinks
Donor Drinks is a super social, casual, come-as-you-are cocktail party in celebration of our shared investment in Kingsley. Make your Annual Fund gift or pledge by December to score an invite to the event of the season! Fellow Kingsley families will host parties in their homes, and your mystery location will be revealed shortly before the party. Mix and mingle with new friends and old as we toast to our generous Kingsley Community. (December)
Giving Day
Kingsley Giving Day is a 24-hour Annual Fund bonanza for all who wish to participate! It’s our chance to achieve the year’s Annual Fund goals and celebrate another extraordinary year of support on behalf of our teachers, students, community, and mission. We’ll mark the day with a festive atmosphere at Arrivals and a variety of challenges and raffles to inspire our community’s “race to the finish!” (April)
