Summer in the City

Summer in the City

Join us for Summer in the City at Kingsley Montessori!

  • Registration opens to Kingsley families and prospective Kingsley families on Tuesday, December 9 at 12:00 p.m.
  • Registration opens to the public on Friday, December 19 at 12:00 p.m.

Held on our historic Back Bay campus, Summer in the City welcomes students entering Grades P3–6. Our program incorporates key elements of Montessori learning, including mixed-age classrooms and an engaging, hands-on approach. Each week includes art, outdoor games, STEM projects, and field trips around Back Bay and Boston. Our program is child-centered—each participant will engage in age-appropriate curriculum and routines with experienced Early Childhood and Elementary educators.

Please review the information below, and reach out to [email protected] with any questions.

Designed as an introduction to Montessori, this program is a great option for families looking to enroll their little ones in an engaging, Montessori-influenced environment for the summer. Current students will explore new group dynamics and exciting projects with the familiar routine and Kingsley spaces they know and love. Whether you're new to our community or a longtime Lion, you'll fit right in at Summer in the City!

Summer in the City for Early Childhood students is offered in two-week time blocks, with Half Day (8:30 a.m.–12:00 p.m.),  Full Day (8:30 a.m.–3:00 p.m.), or Extended Day (8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m.) options. Sessions run Monday through Friday with no weekend availability.

This program is available to students in Grades P3–K. Children turning three by September 1 are considered "P3," children turning four by September 1 are "P4," and children turning five by September 1 are "Ks."

Please note that P3 students must be either current Kingsley students, or prospective Kingsley students with a planned start date of September 2026. The program is open to the public for students in Grades P4–K.

If your student attends or will attend the Half Day program during the regular school year, we strongly recommend the Half Day summer option. Families are encouraged to contact our office at [email protected] with any questions prior to registration.

All students must be fully toilet-trained by the start of their enrolled sessions.
