Kingsley Parent Book Club | February Meetings

Jan 11, 2021 11:33:42 AM / by Madelin Cerullo

Join the Co-Directors of Student Support, Megan Swift & Madelin Cerullo, as they facilitate their second Book Club for parents. The Book Club will have pre-assigned readings for each meetup, with the meetup’s conversation driven by a certain topic or theme.

The Scaffold Effect

This month we will be reading The Scaffold Effect: Raising Resilient, Self-Reliant, and Secure Kids in an Age of Anxiety by Dr. Harold S. Koplewicz.

The Scaffold Effect: Raising Resilient, Self-Reliant, and Secure Kids in an Age of Anxiety, describes how to build up independent skills within your child in order to increase personal growth and build positive characteristic traits.

Starting February 11

The book club will take place virtually and is scheduled to occur every other Thursday from 11:00-12:00.

The first session will be February 11th. Please reach out to Megan (mswift@kingsley.org) and Madelin (mcerullo@kingsley.org) by Friday, January 29th to share your interest in participating. We will then

send a discussion guide to all participants prior to our first meeting.

Stay in Touch

Don’t forget to tune into our podcast, Mindful Brains and Mighty Hearts. Our last interview was with Dr. Kelly Fradin, author of Parenting in a Pandemic. Next up, you’ll hear from us and what it is we do here at Kingsley!
