    POSITION: ASSISTANT TO THE DIRECTOR OF EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION 
    The role is 7:45 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. with occasional evening and weekend events that require attendance.

    Support the Director of Early Childhood Education
    • Oversee daily operational needs for our Early Childhood Program (Toddler to K)
    • Run the front desk and maintain upkeep of the lobby at all times
    • Greet all visitors and direct them to the appropriate person or classroom
    • Manage attendance of all Early Childhood faculty and staff
    • Organize field trips, concerts, and other events for the Early Childhood Program
    • Manage paperwork and schedules in the hiring process for new faculty and staff at Early Childhood
    • Order all office supplies, classroom materials, and snack for the Early Childhood Program as needed
    • Manage schedules for the building and support staff
    • Collaborate on the Master School Schedule
    • Final read for all outgoing communications from the Director of Early Childhood
    • All ECE purchasing and subsequent coding and management of invoices
    • Collaborate with the Associate Director of Elementary Operations on projects including but not limited to: Whole School Calendar, Picture Day, outgoing communications, and summer projects.

    Admissions Support
    • Participate in the re-enrollment process for all families, working closely with the Admissions Team
    • Provide support to the Admissions Team on an ongoing basis, but specifically between January and May
    • Assist with Admissions event planning and logistics

    Early Childhood Operations & Human Resources Support 
    • Partner with the Director of Early Childhood and the Associate Head of School/CFO to manage building operations and safety protocols
    • In partnership with the Associate Head of School/CFO and HR Consultant oversee HR compliance in the Early Childhood Program
    • Provide support on the Blackbaud (My Kingsley) platform for the entire faculty


    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
    • 3 to 5 years experience in an independent school setting or customer-facing administrative role
    • BA/BS degree required
    • High competence with Google Suite and Microsoft Office
    • Knowledge of platforms such as Blackbaud, Ravenna or Veracross preferred 
    • Experience with young children desirable
    • Demonstrated ability to share and embrace Kingsley Montessori School’s mission
    • Ability to work collaboratively with faculty to enhance curriculum and community 
    • Commitment to professional growth and best practices in education

    Certified Nursing Assistant Position (Full Time) 
    Starting in July / August 2020

    DESCRIPTION:
    School nursing is an evolving practice. At Kingsley, we take pride in our clinical care for students and in keeping them and their families at the center of all that we do.     RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Functioning under the direction of the Registered Nurse (RN) and as a member of the school health team, the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) performs duties of direct and indirect student care. The CNA is responsible for supporting the RN with clinical tasks, including, but not limited to glucometry, basic first aid and vital signs. In addition, the CNA is responsible for responding to the needs of students and family members and takes a proactive role in responding to the needs of faculty as necessary.
     
    CLINICAL DUTIES:
    • The following duties will be performed under the general direction of a Nurse.
    • Anticipates the individual needs of students, within the plan of care established by the registered nurse.
    • Maintains familiarity with expected student outcomes of all tasks performed, recognizes situations requiring RN notification.
    • Maintains thorough understanding of activity and equipment within the working environment, including the application of precautions.
    • Measures and records non-invasive vital signs.
    • Collects and records glucometry and carb counts as necessary.
    • Completes clinical setup and clean up, and assists RN during student office visits as needed.
    • Performs simple dressing changes.
    • Functions as a student observer under the direction of the registered nurse.
    NON-CLINICAL DUTIES
    • Responsible for escorting students/families upon being dismissed from school. Ensures that the student has full instructions of home care or needs post-dismissal.
    • Transports students and/or equipment to other areas of the school, when needed.
    • Maintains health office, including changing bed linens, disinfection between students etc. when needed.
    • Orders and maintains non-perishable supplies in office. 
    • All other duties, as assigned.
    QUALIFICATIONS OF PREFERRED CANDIDATE:
    • Certified Nursing Assistant license in the state of MA required upon hire, unless the candidate is a nursing student who has completed her/his fundamentals of nursing with a clinical component (clinical rotation or simulation lab). 
    • Prior experience in a clinical setting preferred.
    • Prior experience in pediatrics preferred.
    • Knowledge of medical terminology.
    • Adheres to the adopted policies of Kingsley Montessori School.

    Key Responsibilities 
    • Facilities Planning & Oversight
      • Regularly review the maintenance needs of Kingsley’s facilities and plan strategically for short and long term renovations and repairs, working closely with the Associate Head of School / CFO/COO.  
      • Establish a 5–10-year maintenance schedule for the Fairfield building.  
      • Manage the use of all contractors, such as: plumber, electrician, carpenter, landscaper, and pest control. 
      • Manage the annual review process to renew our Certificate of Inspection with the City of Boston (emergency lighting systems, sprinklers, fire extinguishers and intercom system). 
      • Oversee the quarterly review of the fire safety systems, including running the evacuation drills in both buildings. 
      • Oversee the regular building inspections (Boston Fire Department, Health Inspector, Inspectional Services Department).  
    • Security & Safety
      • Serves as a key member of the Kingsley community to ensure that safety and security is maximized at all times.  
      • Serve as a security presence during drop off and pick up times each day at both buildings.
      • Manages our ALICE emergency protocols and training across our campus. 
    • Routine Maintenance
      • This role will require the expert use of Schooldude—the digital database used to report and track maintenance items.  
      • Be on call to provide proactive maintenance support for two buildings in the Back Bay.
      • Help oversee the general operations of the school, working with a variety of Kingsley staff members. Tasks will include: painting, assembling furniture, watering plants, arranging chairs for events, delivering boxes to classrooms, etc. 
      • Oversee the cleaning company to make sure the daily trash and recycling is collected and put out for pickup.  
    • Custodial
      • Candidate is required to travel between both buildings, transport packages on a daily basis, and occasionally lift heavy items. 
      • Help oversee the cleaning needs in both buildings, working with our cleaning company on a regular basis.
      • Be on call to support teachers and staff with typical school day messes as they arise.
      • Oversee parking logistics on campus.
      • Collaborate with staff to ensure timely and detailed event setup and breakdown. 
      • Help coordinate snow removal, working with our snow removal contractor.
    This is a public-facing role that requires strong interpersonal skills balanced with a good sense of humor. 
    Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential. 
    This position will report to the Associate Head of School / CFO/COO.  
    Experience: 3-5 years of maintenance or equivalent experience.
