    Kingsley seeks applicants for an After School Administrative Assistant. General reception and administrative support only reflect a portion of this position, as you will be working with faculty, parents, and our students to enhance the experience of everyone that enters our school. As the first point of interaction for people entering the building, you are responsible for creating positive energy in the lobby. Working closely with the Director of Auxiliary Programs and the Auxiliary Programs Coordinator, the Administrative Assistant helps manage the day-to-day logistics of the Early Childhood After School Program (ASP).

    RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
    After School Responsibilities
    • Track and manage the daily attendance. 
    • Communicate with parents and teachers regarding daily schedule, including:
    • Mass communication about canceled lessons and any applicable make-up date notifications.
        • Individualized communication regarding registration discrepancies, changes in schedule, etc.
        • Support After School teachers when needed. 
    • Post updates on “My Kingsley” on behalf of ASP & Enrichment programs.
    • Communicate and track weekly/daily attendance by trimester.
    • Sign out all ASP and Enrichment students to an approved adult. 
    • Help organize Vacation Care programs (Winter, Spring).
    • Track missed days and make-up enrichments and lessons throughout the trimester. 
    • Manage any discrepancies in registration.
    • Reserve programmatic spaces for each trimester. 
    • Make group field trip reservations. 
    • Facilitate snack orders for After School programs.

    Reception
    • Greet all visitors and direct them accordingly.
    • Answer phone. Respond to and redirect emails and phone calls.
    • Help maintain lobby appearance.
    • Help support maintenance of bulletin boards.
    • Serve as vendor liaison during afternoon deliveries.
    • Sort and distribute external and interoffice email.
    General Administrative Support
    • Manage and communicate After School Program drop-in requests.
    • As needed, help Assistant to the Directors of Elementary and Early Childhood with Administrative Support  
    • Help to maintain student files, including academic records, permission sheets, immunization, and emergency records.
    • Assist with other duties and projects as needed.

     
    REQUIREMENTS:
    • BA/BS degree required (Majors in the field of education preferred)
    • Minimum 1 year working in an educational or non­profit setting
    • Understanding of and commitment to multi-­age learning environments
    • Ability to work collaboratively with faculty to enhance curriculum and community
    • Commitment to professional development and best practices in education

    POSITION DETAILS: 
    Kingsley Montessori is seeking creative educators to teach in our After School Program for the 2019-2020 school year. Qualified applicants would teach After School Enrichment Classes throughout the school year. With a flexible yet consistent schedule created in collaboration with the educator and school administration, this new role at Kingsley Montessori is the perfect opportunity for anyone seeking to gain experience in a school setting. After School Enrichment classes take place daily from 3:00 - 6:00 p.m. This is a great opportunity for those seeking to gain some classroom teaching time, while they are working towards their degree. Qualified applicants will have the opportunity to work with the Kingsley After School Administration to create a class schedule that fits the needs of both Kingsley and the applicant.

As an After School Program Teacher, this individual will share responsibility for the After School Program student experience and develop strong partnerships with parents and colleagues. This position also includes assisting with the development of the Summer Program Curriculum. Other important duties include advancing your professional and personal growth, fulfilling administrative duties when necessary, and supporting the school in multiple other areas. This role is a great opportunity for educators interested in seeing many different facets of an independent school. All teachers attend regular meetings, and share responsibilities with other faculty in the areas of curriculum management, after school schedules, student needs, and the After School Program environment.     • Collaborate with classroom teachers to ensure continuity between the classroom and After School Program.

    • Develop lesson plans and activities and lead engaging hands-on lessons in collaboration with the classroom teachers and other after school teachers.
    • Monitor student attendance of the programs by collecting attendance rosters, updating attendance database, and communicating attendance issues with the Auxiliary Programs Coordinator.
    • Ensure the safety and well-being of each student by creating a safe and engaging classroom.
    • Lead safe After School trips to locations off-campus.
    • Observe all rules and regulations of Kingsley Montessori School.
    • Maintain overall professional personal appearance adhering to the guidelines of the Kingsley Montessori School.
    • Perform other related duties as required.
