DESCRIPTION:

Kingsley seeks a dynamic, collaborative, forward-thinking administrator who is looking to contribute to a unique elementary program informed by Montessori and progressive curriculum, pedagogy, and principles. The Assistant Director of Elementary (ADOE) reports directly to the Director of Elementary (DOE). The ADOE is responsible for assisting with the day to day management and supervision of elementary operations, teachers, and students. The ADOE attends regular meetings held by the Elementary Director for purposes of improving the educational experience of students and families at Kingsley. The ADOE will also teach one class and assume the responsibilities inherent with that role.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assists the DOE and Elementary faculty to preserve, develop, and fulfill the philosophy and objectives of the school.
  • Assists the DOE in the creation of a climate in which faculty, staff, and students are able to fully achieve the school’s mission.
  • Oversees and provides support and communication for students, teachers, and families in response to challenging students behaviors.
  • Manage teacher absences and arrange for coverage of classes as needed.
  • Assists the DOE in reading and editing winter and spring Progress Report narratives.
  • Supervise and coordinate the planning and execution of all field trips.
  • Assists DOE in creating agendas and facilitating faculty and team meetings.
  • Teach one class and assume all responsibilities of a lead teacher including grading, planning, and report writing.
  • Acts as Director of Elementary Education in DOE’s absence.

Kingsley seeks reflective and intentional educators who are looking to contribute to a progressive curriculum and pedagogy. The Elementary (grades K-6) Science Teacher reports directly to the Director of Elementary (DOE) and the Director of Auxiliary Programs. The Elementary Science Teacher is responsible for developing and delivering an inquiry and research-based Science curriculum to all Kindergarten - Sixth Grade students. This curriculum should touch upon multiple Science areas including Earth Science; Human, Plant, and Animal Biology; Physics; and Engineering. Additionally, they will be responsible for working with the Elementary Faculty to integrate Science themes, concepts, skills, and topics with the overarching Elementary curriculum, in all subject areas, thereby expanding the Division’s STEAM initiatives.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop and deliver an excellent, challenging, and engaging Science curriculum to all K-6 students.
  • Assess and monitor the progress of each K-6 student as they participate in Science class and labs, and provide student progress information to parents through progress reports and parent conferences.
  • Stay abreast of trends and proven strategies in Science education and STEM programming.
  • Communicate and model a high level of interest in Science and STEM education.
  • Consistently communicate with K-6 Faculty and the DOE about all students in terms of their academic and social/emotional needs and development.
  • Attend regularly scheduled faculty meetings and participate in assigned duties such as Lunch coverage, recess coverage, and arrival and/or dismissal.

The Reading Specialist provides literacy instruction, intervention, and assessment in grades Pre-K - 4 through a combination of intervention and classroom collaboration. The Reading Specialist will report directly to the Director of Student Support. In your role, you will work with the Student Support Team (SST) which consists of several learning specialists and a school counselor.

The Reading Specialist must possess a profound understanding of multi-sensory reading instruction, differentiated instruction and research-based best practices related to the unique learning profiles of all readers.   • Write and execute a Learning Plan for students receiving intervention with specific goals for intervention
  • Work cooperatively and collaboratively with Early Childhood and Elementary classrooms to plan and implement differentiation techniques
  • Work collaboratively with the Director of Student Support, classroom teachers and fellow Learning Specialists to identify the learning needs of students through observation and assessments to determine intervention needs in and out of the classroom
  • Attend regular team meetings with the Student Support Team and classroom teachers
  • Interpret assessment data including neuropsychological reports to inform intervention practices
  • Meet and communicate with families effectively and regularly about student progress, including three parent-teacher conferences
  • Write Winter and Spring student progress reports summarizing the intervention provided to students and their progress

Kingsley seeks culturally aware applicants for the position of Summer Program Teacher. We seek enthusiastic educators from all backgrounds to lead Kingsley’s Summer in the City program. As a Summer Program Teacher, this individual will share responsibility for student experiences and for developing strong partnerships with parents and colleagues. Other important duties include advancing your professional and personal growth and fulfilling administrative duties. All teachers attend regular meetings, and share responsibilities with other faculty in the areas of curriculum management, summer program schedules, student needs, and the summer program environment. Candidates with independent school or camp experience will be preferred. Summer Program Teachers report to the Director of Auxiliary Programs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Actively participate and contribute to all pre-summer training and professional development sessions.
  • Develop and deliver educational programming that aligns with Kingsley’s Summer in the City curriculum and pedagogy.
  • Prepare and facilitate community-building activities to ensure group development and bonding.
  • Facilitate prompt arrival to designated locations with students; maintain awareness and understanding of daily schedules.
  • Deliver clear and concise course expectations, activity, and safety instructions to all participants.
  • Maintain 100% supervision at all times to ensure emotional and physical safety.
  • Responsible for daily program setup and cleanup, attending program briefs and debriefs, and maintaining care for Kingsley’s resources and supplies.

The Director of Admissions & Enrollment Management will work closely with the Head of School to oversee all aspects of admissions including recruitment and enrollment, re-enrollment and retention, financial aid processes, and information and database management. The successful candidate for this position will serve as a vibrant, energetic, and engaging ambassador for Kingsley, and a thoughtful, collaborative, and inspiring leader who can move fluently between managing the highly detailed everyday tasks to creatively composing and implementing long range strategic planning. DESCRIPTION:

Reporting to the Chief Advancement Officer, the Development Associate embraces data hygiene and business process excellence as the foundations of a high-performing Advancement program. They will help enact a gold-standard protocol for gifts management, database oversight, and development administration. The Development Associate’s work will support day-to-day business operations and development activities, including the Annual Fund, fundraising events, volunteer management, and community engagement. This deadline-driven and forward-thinking colleague will be proactive about communicating their ideas for process improvement or resources needed to achieve our aspirational goals. The Development Associate will bring a start-up mentality to our shared work, and will enthusiastically partner with teammates to facilitate the School’s mission.

PRIMARY DUTIES:
  • Database Management and Gift Processing
    • Help establish best-in-class fundraising reporting and acknowledgment protocols.
    • Record and harness data to facilitate excellence in fundraising strategy and stewardship.
    • Enter, track, receipt, reconcile, and report on gifts, pledges, and development activity in the Raiser’s Edge and other platforms.
    • Maintain the accuracy and integrity of constituent records in our database.
  • Development Administration
    • Orchestrate the production of gift acknowledgement letters and other development communications and correspondence.
    • Generate donor lists and other content for Annual Impact Report and other Development communications.
    • Contribute data for meeting and event briefings.
    • Manage, track, and report Advancement expenses and corporate card reconciliation.
    • Maintain Advancement Office supply closet.
  • Advancement and School
    • Provide operational support for Advancement team activities, including fundraising campaigns, development events, and community engagement projects.
    • Contribute as appropriate to Advancement team strategic initiatives and communications (weekly Community Bulletin, etc.).
    • Attendance at relevant staff meetings.
    • Other duties as assigned by the Chief Advancement Officer.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALITIES:
  • 1-3 years experience in nonprofit database management or business operations preferred.
  • Proficiency or readiness to attain proficiency with Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge or similar CMR (training and support available), Greater Giving or similar, Boost My School, Google Suite, Microsoft Office, Mail Chimp, and Asana.
  • High degree of computer literacy, detail-orientation, personal motivation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to carefully proofread written work and to draft new communications a plus.
  • Accountability, teachability, and success working both independently and collaboratively.
  • Invested in the team’s success and ready to contribute to group discussions.

PRIMARY DUTIES:
  • Fundraising
    • Develop, implement, and manage the Annual Fund and other fundraising activities. Draft appeals, acknowledgements, pledge reminders, and other communications. Oversee One Kingsley Giving Day.
    • Help craft and execute a multi-year plan for increasing alumni and Grandfriend engagement and enhancing our connectivity with all stakeholders.
    • Partner with the Director of Marketing & Communications to elevate development communications in alignment with our school’s strengths and aspirations.
  • Events Management
    • In consultation with the Chief Advancement Officer and our Events Committee, act as project manager for Development and Advancement events, including future incarnations of this year’s smash-hit financial aid benefit.
    • IAuthor event action plans and briefings; assign and coordinate duties across the Advancement Team and beyond.
    • IDemonstrate the highest standards of professionalism, organization, coordination, strategic planning, and follow-through.
  • Volunteer Partnership
    • With guidance from the Chief Advancement Officer, administratively support Development and Events Committee members as vital collaborators.
    • Build on our nascent grandparent and alumni parent volunteer program; expand to closer work with alumni, faculty and staff, and students.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES:
  • Record contact reports and other data in Raiser’s Edge/RENXT and provide backup database support.
  • Provide content for our Community Bulletin, social media platforms, and website.
  • Support the Chief Advancement Officer in conceiving of and carrying out special projects, including planned giving and future capital campaign activities.
  • Execute other duties as assigned by the Chief Advancement Officer.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Development or relevant experience: 3-5 years for Assistant Director or 5-7 years for Associate Director.
  • Tech savvy; proficient or ready to attain proficiency with Blackbaud’s RENEXT and Raiser’s Edge or similar (training available); Greater Giving or similar; Google Suite, Microsoft Office, Mailchimp, and Asana.

DESCRIPTION:

The Operations Associate is a dynamic position that requires an open-minded and flexible attitude. General reception and administrative support only reflect a portion of this position, as you will be working with faculty, parents, and our students to enhance the experience of everyone that enters our school. As the first point of interaction for people entering the building, your primary priority is always creating positive energy in the lobby. This position reports to the Associate Director of Operations and provides occasional support to the Director of Auxiliary Programs. The Operations Associate helps manage the safety and ever-changing day-to-day logistics that go into running the school.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Possess excellent multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks
  • Exude a Customer service attitude
  • Proficiency in Google Suite and with office equipment (e.g. fax machines, printers, internal phones)
  • Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise
  • Positive collaborative attitude and willingness to leave comfort zone
RECEPTION DUTIES:
  • Manage the flow of guests into the building, greet all visitors and direct them accordingly.
  • Maintain school security by following safety procedures and controlling building access.
  • Oversee and troubleshoot the Traction sign-in system as needed.
  • Answer lobby phones, respond and redirect all emails and phone calls promptly.
  • Receive and sort all incoming mail.
  • Maintain lobby appearance (package distribution, bikes, lost and found, milk).
  • Facilitate drop-off and receipt of student items.
  • Assist with maintaining postage machines and school mailings.
  • Ensure egresses and elevators are accessible.
  • Always prioritize students in the lobby.
GENERAL ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES:
  • Track and manage daily student attendance during regular and after school hours.
  • Manage and communicate dismissal changes and After School Program drop-in requests.
  • Fulfill purchase orders and keep updated records of office expenses and costs in accordance with KMS policy.
  • Maintain general office supplies including student snacks and break room needs.
  • As needed, assist the Associate Director of Operations with Administrative Support.
  • Support the Director of Early Childhood where needed.
  • Oversee dismissal for both the academic school day and ASP/ Enrichment programming.
  • Assist with other duties and projects as needed.
  • Occasionally support with lunch and recess duties.
AFTER SCHOOL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage reception during ASP hours
  • Communicate with parents and teachers regarding daily schedule, including:
    • Mass communication about canceled lessons and any make-up date notifications.
    • Individualized communication regarding registration discrepancies and schedule changes.
    • Support After School teachers when needed.
  • Aid Auxiliary Programs including reserving transportation and programmatic spaces
  • Track missed days and make-up enrichments and lesson throughout the trimester
  • Manage any discrepancies in registrations
  • Support daily operations as needed
SPECIAL PROJECTS RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Support Blackbaud database (experience is a plus)
  • Supports all-school departments with project development and completion
  • Organizes, attends, and participates in special project meetings
  • Documents and follows-up on important action items
  • Develops content and messaging that aligns with the Project Leader's vision
  • Provides administrative support to all departments as needed
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • BA/BS degree required (Majors in an education field are preferred)
  • Minimum of 1 year working in an educational setting (non-profit preferred)
