With a growing enrollment of 327 plus students in Toddler through Sixth Grade, Kingsley offers a dynamic and student-centered education that strives to make the most of each student’s unique gifts and creative interests. Our progressive, inquiry-based program offers a rigorous integrated curriculum, that includes vast offerings in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math).

    JOB DESCRIPTION: We seek an Extracurricular Program Coordinator who is passionate about working with Toddler through Sixth Grade students, and delivering a strong educational experience for all learners. The Extracurricular Program Coordinator reports to the Directors of Education. This position also works in collaboration with the current After School Program Coordinator who is focused on the logistical and operational oversight of all After School programs.   

    The Extracurricular Program Coordinator attends regular meetings held by the Director of Elementary for purposes of supporting the educational experience of students at Kingsley. The primary purpose of the position is in overseeing and developing the educational substance of programs after the traditional school day dismissals. This position also is responsible for the financial oversight of the Extracurricular Program working closely with the Kingsley Business Office. General reception and administrative support is also a part of this position as it serves to support faculty, parents, and our students.

    RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
    • Design and implement Kingsley’s Extracurricular Programs.
    • Develops and regularly evaluates the curriculums for all extracurricular programs.
    • Supervises and helps to develop the faculty and staff.
    • Ensure student safety and well-being is maintained at all times.
    • Implement and oversee Kingsley’s Extracurricular Programs working with the current After School Coordinator.
    • Develop the Kingsley Summer School educational programs to maximize the educational experience for all students.
    • Manages budgets for all extracurricular programs working directly with the Business Office.
    • Coordinates with the Business Office to provide accurate pricing, invoicing, etc.
    • Analyzes enrollment trends to inform future programmatic opportunities.
    • Builds and maintains community relationships.
    • Creates revenue growth opportunities.
    • Conducts research to identify programmatic trends and opportunities.
    • Works with Educational Directors and Classroom Teachers to ensure developmentally appropriate programmatic opportunities.
    • Actively participates in the hiring of teachers and staff for applicable extracurricular programs.
    • Communicates with Educational Leadership Team and CFO for use of facilities.
    • Collaborates with Kingsley’s Marketing Director to create promotional materials that are specific to Extracurricular Programs.
    • Markets the extracurricular programs to current and prospective students/parents through print materials, website, etc.
    • Develops and manages event(s) designed to educate and energize the community about Kingsley’s extracurricular programs
    • Organizes and supervises faculty and students enrolled in programs, i.e., provide teacher support, feedback, and leadership.
    • Provides teacher training, orientation, professional development opportunities.
    • Provides customer service to parents, teachers, and children through effective written and verbal communication.
    • Helps manage enrollment for all programs working with the current After School Coordinator.
    • Maintains and updates School database to ensure effective record-keeping.
    REQUIREMENTS:
    • BA/BS degree required (Majors in the field of education preferred).
    • Minimum 1 year working in an educational or non-profit setting.
    • Understanding of and commitment to multi-age learning environments.
    • Ability to work collaboratively with faculty to enhance curriculum and community.
    • Commitment to professional development and best practices in education.

    JOB SUMMARY:

The ultimate objective is to help students to identify and strengthen their unique capabilities and enable them to productively thrive at KMS as engaged learners and responsible citizens.

    This is an exciting opportunity to teach at one of Boston’s premier independent schools. We are seeking Assistant Teachers and Lead Teachers who are passionate about working with Lower Elementary students (Grades First through Third) in mixed-aged classrooms and delivering a strong educational experience for all learners. Each Kingsley Lower Elementary classroom consists of two Lead Teachers and one Assistant Teacher. Candidates interested in either position should have excellent collaboration skills and should look forward to working within a teaching team. All Lower Elementary teachers attend regular meetings, observe, advise, and may serve as a mentor and role model for other faculty. Responsibilities include curriculum management, classroom schedules, record keeping, student needs, and the classroom environment. Lower Elementary Teachers report to the Director of Elementary Education at Kingsley.

    QUALIFICATIONS:
    • BA/BS degree required and MA degree preferred
    • Lead Teacher position requires AMS/AMI teaching credential
      • Montessori Certification
    • Assistant Teacher position requires commitment to Montessori training

This is an exciting opportunity to teach at one of Boston’s premier independent schools. We are seeking world-class educators who desire to work with proven Montessori pedagogy. At Kingsley, your educational passion and creativity can have a potential impact on the design of our progressive, integrated curriculum. As an Assistant Teacher, you will work alongside the ­Lead Teachers to best facilitate all aspects of the students’ classroom experience. The successful candidate will attend regular meetings, observe, advise, transition students to and from Co-Curricular classes, and help maintain classroom schedules, records, student needs, and the classroom environment. Assistant Teachers report to the Directors of Education at Kingsley.

    QUALIFICATIONS OF PREFERRED CANDIDATES:
    • BA/BS degree required and MA degree preferred
    • Minimum of 3-­5 years teaching experience preferred
    • AMS/AMI teaching credential and/or willingness for further training
    • Understanding of and commitment to Montessori philosophy
    • Ability to work collaboratively with faculty to enhance curriculum and community
