    JOB SUMMARY:

    We are searching for innovative educators who are eager to be challenged! Kingsley is seeking an Upper Elementary Co-Lead Teacher to join our program. This is an exciting opportunity to teach at one of Boston’s premier independent early childhood and elementary schools. We seek world-class educators who are looking to contribute to a progressive, integrated curriculum informed by Montessori pedagogy and principles. As a Co-­Lead Teacher, you will be responsible for all aspects of your fourth through sixth grade students’ classroom experience and for developing strong partnerships with parents and colleagues. Other important duties include advancing your professional and personal growth and fulfilling administrative duties. All teachers attend regular meetings, observe, advise, and serve as a mentor and role model for other faculty in the areas of curriculum management, classroom schedules, record keeping, student needs, and the classroom environment. Co-­Lead Teachers report to the Upper Elementary Director of Education.

    QUALIFICATIONS:
    • BA/BS degree required and MA degree preferred
    • Minimum of three years teaching experience
    • Experience with a variety of instructional methods and multi-­age learning environments
    • Experience implementing a balanced mathematics program, preferably Singapore Math
    • Ability to work collaboratively with faculty to enhance curriculum and community
    • Commitment to meeting the needs of each child
    • Commitment to professional growth and best practices in education
    • Familiarity with and/or an interest in learning more about Montessori pedagogy (American Montessori Society (AMS)/Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) teaching credentials are a plus but are not required)

    JOB SUMMARY:
    Kingsley Montessori School is searching for an innovative school librarian who is eager to be challenged. We seek a talented, energetic, and charismatic educator who is passionate about working with children, from Toddler through Sixth Grade, and their teachers. Our school librarian will be asked to provide vision, leadership, and management of Kingsley’s library program. This individual will work closely with the Chief Academic Officer, the Education Directors, and faculty to align the library program with the mission of the school and the school’s pedagogy.
     
    The Librarian is a member of the faculty and reports to the Chief Academic Officer and the three Education Directors. The position includes the following responsibilities:

     
    QUALIFICATIONS:
    • BA/BS degree required and an MS in Library and Information Sciences is preferred
    • Minimum of three years experience overseeing a school library program
    • Understanding multi-­age learning environments
    • Understanding of and commitment to Montessori philosophy; Montessori credentials earned from American Montessori Society (AMS) or Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) is not required, but would be a plus

    Teaching and Curriculum Responsibilities:
    • Promote literacy, a love of reading, and an understanding of digital citizenship.
    • Pursue knowledge of current educational theory and practice as it pertains to an early childhood, and elementary school library program
    • Work collaboratively with faculty to enhance curriculum and community
    • Assist students with book selection, creating effective reference questions, and developing research skills
    • Participating in parent teacher conferences once per school year
    • Communicate goals of Kingsley’s library program to our families and enlist their help in promoting literacy, good reading habits and a lifelong love of reading
    • Conduct academic classes for all grades. Classes may include teaching research and information literacy skills, conducting book talks, and co-teaching other activities that have been planned with teachers
    • Instruct students, staff, and faculty in the use of online resources, including the library catalog, electronic resources, and internet research
    • Prepare resource lists for faculty and students, and pull resources to support specific units.
    • Protect users’ access and confidentiality

    Program Administration:
    • Ensure that Kingsley’s collection is well-maintained and current through evaluation and selection of print, non-print, and electronic sources; and that proper cataloging, circulation, and shelving procedures are followed
    • Oversee the selection of materials based on curricular needs, reviews, areas of high need, and requests from faculty and students, while assuring that diversity is reflected in the library collection
    • Maintain the Library  class pages, and the Library resource board on Kingsley’s website, to organize and provide access to web-based library and other resources
    • Organize and supervise Kingsley’s Book Fair and parent volunteers for this event
    • Manage the library budget and set long-term goals regarding program and budget
    • Represent Kingsley and attend local meetings of outside library associations, such as the Greater Boston Cooperative Library Association (CLA) and the Elementary Independent School Librarians Association (EISLA), and/or serve on reading list or other committees as interest and time allow
    • Promote compliance with copyright law

    JOB DESCRIPTION:

    We are searching for innovative educators who are eager to be challenged. Kingsley is seeking an educator who will thrive in an entry-level position as an Elementary or Early Childhood After School Teacher. This is an exciting opportunity to teach at one of Boston’s premier independent schools. We are seeking world-class educators (either Montessori trained or with an independent school background) who are looking to bring innovation into the classroom and desire to learn and work with proven Montessori pedagogy. At Kingsley, your educational passion and creativity can have an impact on the design of our progressive, integrated curriculum. As an After School Program Teacher, you will be responsible for all aspects of your students’ classroom experience and developing strong partnerships with parents, Classroom Teachers, and Co-Curricular Teachers. Other important duties include advancing your professional and personal growth, collegiality, and administrative duties. All teachers attend regular meetings, observe, advise, and serve as a mentor and role model for other faculty in the areas of Montessori methodology, curriculum management, classroom schedules, record keeping, student needs, and the classroom environment. After School Program Teachers report to the Director of Auxiliary Programs at Kingsley.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

    • Develops lesson plans and activities, lead engaging hands-on lessons, in collaboration with the other After School Teachers.
    • Monitors student attendance of the programs by collecting attendance rosters, updating attendance database, and communicating attendance issues with the Auxiliary Programs Coordinator.
    • Ensure the safety and well-being of each student by creating a safe and engaging classroom.
    • Lead safe After School trips to local parks, and community spaces.
    • Observes all rules and regulations of Kingsley Montessori School.
    • Maintain overall professional personal appearance adhering to the guidelines of the Kingsley Montessori School.  
    • Perform other related duties as required.
    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • BA/BS degree required (Majors in the field of education preferred)
    • Teaching experience with children
    • Educators with a focus in Arts Education strongly encouraged to apply
    • Understanding of and commitment to multi-age learning environments
    • Experience with differentiating instruction to meet the needs of each child

Kingsley is seeking Teaching Interns to join our school in a unique and multifaceted position. This is an exciting opportunity to work in one of Boston’s premier independent schools and gain a stronger understanding of the day-to-day operations. Teaching Interns work directly with students both in and outside of the classroom under the supervision and guidance of Kingsley’s professional staff. This is an opportunity for interested candidates to create a schedule and growth plan that will meet the needs of both Kingsley and the Intern. There is potential opportunity for Teaching Interns to lead Enrichment Classes during our Kingsley’s After School Program. Enrichment Classes take place once a week throughout each trimester, and Teaching Interns will be able to create and deliver curriculum that engages and builds upon itself throughout the entirety of each trimester.
