Kindergarten Engineering Design Program

KINDERGARTEN

These workshops will enable the Kindergarten students to:
  • Explore and understand the concept of engineering
  • Journal about observations, ideas, and notes surrounding the design process
  • Design a prototype to solve a problem
  • Test and improve the prototype through several renditions
  • Share their work with classmates, teachers, and parents at a special show-and-tell

Technology & Innovation Elementary

FIRST–SIXTH GRADE

Programmatic Goals:
  • Foster the development of the 4 Cs: Communication, Collaboration, Critical Thinking & Creativity
  • Revel in the creative and transformative opportunities technology provides
  • Support students in their positive, prudent digital presence
  • Equip students for their exploration of new technology and technology new to them.
  • Develop and refine students’ computational thinking skills and engineering design practices

    • Students select strands they wish to work on.
    • Students synthesize understanding in projects
    • Dedicated time to typing and reflection
  • Innovation
    • Students select inquiry question or projects they want to develop answers or solutions based on their interests
    • Hands-on experiences applying the engineering design process
