At Kingsley knowing every child as an individual learner is central to our mission. By knowing every child, we can channel their natural curiosities to create passionate, independent learners.
One of the pillars of the Kingsley experience is that parents are partners in the community. Parents, teachers, administrators, and students support each other to achieve the most positive outcome for each child. In some cases, parents go out of their way to share their knowledge and expertise with students, via guest lessons! We were recently lucky enough to have two amazingly talented parents step in on the very same day to lead lessons in both the Visual and Culinary Arts.
The advancement of pedagogy with technology is transforming the Kingsley experience.
At Kingsley, technology integration in the Elementary program is thoughtfully planned and executed, with the goal of building critical thinking skills, along with technical and digital fluency. We view relevant technology as tools designed to increase student productivity and practice while supporting important instructional goals. Through specialized programs with Co-Curricular teachers (science, technology and innovation, library) technology is integrated into daily learning. Students view their technology resources as just that–resources; valuable tools that can be combined and used in creative, purposeful ways.
Themes and routines play important roles in the life of a Montessori student. Throughout the levels, work becomes more complex, detailed, and demanding, as students reach for different and more challenging works and materials.
