Summer in the City: The Best that Boston has to Offer

Feb 27, 2020 11:17:07 AM / by Doug DeMaio

Kingsley's Summer in the City program is a great opportunity for children ages 3 through 9 to explore Boston, learn, and have fun with new friends. Summer in the City is a five week program, that touches on a number of important themes each week.

A Summer Program Built for Boston

Summer in the City is an educational summer program, and children of all ages will be challenged with fun activities and exercises.

You are welcome to sign up for any or all weeks of the program. Each week is different, and we encourage you to stick around and experience them all! Note that the second week of the program is shortened (4 days) due to the Independence Day holiday.

Summer in the City Themes

Children of all ages will be able to participate in the following themes:

Students of all ages can design, build, and explore with Engineering in the City! Students will be exercising their creative thinking and problem-solving skills—along with plenty of opportunities to work hands-on. Using the engineering design process, our young creators will work together to solve problems, build new things, and explore the feats of engineering around Boston!

Summer in the City takes students on nature-based, scientific journeys around the city and beyond! Students will use the scientific process to collect and record data as they note the differences and changes in the natural world, in some of Boston’s most iconic pieces of land. Traveling to many of the area’s green spaces will allow students to see the city in a whole new light.

A city abound with arts, Boston has long been known as a hub of creativity and individuality. Students will have the opportunity to explore a wide range of artistic topics and styles, while learning about the rich history of arts and architecture in the most beautiful areas of Boston.

Run, jump, slide! Sports in the City is designed for students of all interest levels to get out in the city and get active! Students will spend time each week exploring new games and activities that get them outside and using their bodies. They will have fun working together to learn about and accomplish creative activities, both new and old (with fun twists).
