DESCRIPTION AND REQUIREMENTS:

The Educational Fellow is a dynamic position that requires an open-minded, flexible, and proactive attitude for college graduates and/or graduate students with an interest in education. This position allows candidates in the early stages of their careers to work with and learn from experienced teaching teams. Among other duties, the Educational Fellow will assist faculty with classes, organize materials, oversee indoor and outdoor breaks, oversee study halls, offer clubs and other interest-based activities, and share lunch duties. Ideal candidates will have experience working with children and interest in passionately immersing themselves in an independent school. This position involves an initial one semester commitment with the opportunity to renew for another term by mutual agreement. The position is compensated at $20/hr, approximately 40 hours per week, and is eligible for benefits.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

DESCRIPTION AND REQUIREMENTS:

The Literacy Specialist provides differentiated and targeted instruction, intervention, and assessment in grades 4 to 6 through a combination of intervention and classroom collaboration. The candidate must possess an understanding of students with diverse learning profiles and should be familiar with neuropsychological and educational evaluations as well as creating and working with differentiated student learning plans. Additionally, the candidate must have a strong background in working with teachers to modify their instruction to meet students’ needs. Finally, the candidate should be confident partnering with families guiding them in understanding how to support their child’s learning both in and out of school. RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

• Work cooperatively with teachers to plan and implement differentiation
• Identify learning needs through observation and assessments
• Write learning plans with specific goals for students receiving intervention
• Provide individual and small group intervention in literacy
• Meet with families about student progress, including parent-teacher conferences
• Write winter and spring reports summarizing intervention provided to students
• Serve as a resource for families, providing ideas for tutors and summer programs
• Attend team meetings to monitor student progress and suggest strategies
• Work collaboratively with the Student Support Team and Educational Directors

IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS:

• MA degree in Education with concentration in Reading, Literacy, or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years teaching and/or intervention experience
• Certification in methods such as Wilson or Orton-Gillingham
• Familiarity with Montessori or experience working in Montessori classrooms
• Experience using a variety of assessments including Fountas and Pinnell Reading system and DIBELS
• Experience with Fundations or comparable phonics curriculum

Assistant Teachers have completed an undergraduate degree and are working toward professional training in education, which may include Montessori certification and/or a graduate degree in education. DESCRIPTION and REQUIREMENTS

The Assistant reports to and supports a busy school division dedicated to the education of toddler through kindergarten 2-6 year old students and their families. Duties include supporting the Director of Early Childhood Education through:

Overseeing daily operational needs of the Early Childhood Program including but not limited to:

• Ensure effective communications between home and school
• Manage attendance of Early Childhood faculty and staff
  • Utilize a daily Attendance Tracker for students and staff
  • Partner with the Nursing Team to ensure the health and safety of students and staff
  • Manage teacher absences and coverage needs
• Organize events for the Early Childhood Program
  • Assist in the organization of field trips
  • Organize parent information sessions and Parents Association events
  • Assist with event planning from Back to School Night to Kindergarten Moving Up
  • Assist the Advancement Team with events such as Spirit Day, Giving Day, Thank You Day, Teacher Appreciation Days, and Grandfriends Day/K Marathon
  • Support the hiring process for new faculty and staff at Early Childhood
• Provide final read for all outgoing communications from the Director of Early Childhood
• Collaborate with elementary staff on projects including but not limited to: School Calendar, Picture Day, outgoing communications, and summer projects

Serving as building operations manager with duties including but not limited to:

• Run the front desk and maintain upkeep of the lobby
• Greet all visitors and direct them to the appropriate person or classroom
• Order office supplies, classroom materials, and snacks for the Early Childhood Program as needed, managing general and classroom budgets and invoices
• Collaborate on the Master School Schedule; assist in class placement for students
• Collaborate to create the Kingsley directory and yearbook
• Working closely with Admissions, participate in the re-enrollment process for all families
• Provide support to Admissions on an ongoing basis, especially between January and May
• Assist with Admissions event planning and logistics
• Assist in classrooms as needed

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 3 to 5 years experience in a customer-facing administrative role or independent school setting
• BA/BS degree preferred
• High competence with Google Suite and Microsoft Office
• Knowledge of database platforms such as Blackbaud preferred or willingness to learn
• Experience with young children desirable

School nursing is an evolving practice. At Kingsley, we take pride in our clinical care for students and in keeping them and their families at the center of all that we do. That’s why we’re committed to knowing our students on a deeper level — not just as students, but as individuals — to ensure that they and their families feel well cared for. Kingsley healthcare staff are deeply committed to providing the highest quality, evidence-based care in an inclusive environment.

Among robust COVID mitigation measures, all staff must be vaccinated and boosted, and all staff and students must be masked. We urge all eligible students to be vaccinated and run on-site clinics to facilitate that. In addition, we require PCR pool testing for all staff and students weekly and typically require a negative PCR test after extended breaks.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

• Provide emergency nursing for injuries/illnesses
• Identify health findings when making a nursing assessment
• Administer and/or supervise the administration of prescription medication to students
• Assist in the control of communicable diseases
• Document all student interactions within electronic health records
• Maintain data and records, including yearly physicals, immunizations, medication administration plans, emergency action plans, and parental consent forms as necessary
• Coordinate care for students attending off-campus events
• Serve as a resource to staff and parents for health-related purposes involving students
• Develop and implement student health plans
• Maintain, evaluate, and interpret cumulative health data to accommodate individual student needs
• Adhere to the adopted policies of Kingsley Montessori School including, but not limited to, medication administration policies and food allergy policies

QUALIFICATIONS OF PREFERRED CANDIDATE:

• Massachusetts license as a Registered Nurse
• CPR & First Aid Certification
• Prior experience in pediatrics preferred
• Possess a high-level of interpersonal skills, positive demeanor, and respectful attitude toward all members of our community
• Ability to work collaboratively with faculty to enhance student wellness and achieve common goals
• Commitment to best practices in clinical nursing
• Commitment to meeting the needs of each child and family
• Experience using Magnus Health Portal preferred but not required

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

Functioning under the direction of the School Nurse Manager and as an essential member of the Kingsley Nursing Team, the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) performs duties of direct and indirect student care. The CNA is responsible for supporting the RN with clinical tasks, including, but not limited to glucometry, first aid, basic assessments, COVID-19 testing, contact tracing, data collection, documentation and communications. The ideal candidate has a warm bedside manner, is self-motivated, and has a professional demeanor. The following duties typically will be performed under the general direction of a Nurse.

CLINICAL DUTIES:

• Maintains familiarity with expected student outcomes of all tasks performed, recognizes situations requiring RN notification.
• Implement care plans for students with chronic health conditions.
• Administer medications under the supervision and direction of a nurse within state law and school medication administration policies.
• Maintains thorough understanding of the application of infection control and precautionary measures ensuring environmental, patient, and personal safety.
• Completes clinical setup and clean up.
• Performs basic first aid.

NON-CLINICAL DUTIES:

• Maintains health office, including changing linens, disinfection between students etc. when needed.
• Orders and maintains medical supplies.
• All other duties, as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS OF PREFERRED CANDIDATE:

• Certified Nursing Assistant license in the state of MA required
• Must be proficient with Google Suite. (Gmail, Drive, Calendar, Docs, Sheets
• Experience using an EMR for documenting
• Prior experience in pediatrics preferred
