Kingsley’s After-School Program is designed to create a
familiar environment where children feel comfortable learning, sharing
and simply being themselves. In both the Preschool and Elementary
programs, After School offers places for children to be with friends,
find a corner to quietly read, write, or reflect, or to take on
a new challenge. Thematic studies in After-School range from exploring
the seasons to “traveling” to different countries around
the world. Using art, music, literature, games and movement, Kingsley
children spend their afternoons learning about culture, cooperation
and each other. There is something for everyone, and children and
faculty alike enjoy the camaraderie that fills the school’s
campus at the end of the day.
We offer Enrichment Classes for Preschool and Elementary students,
whether or not they are enrolled in the regular After-School Program.
There are three cycles of Enrichment Classes throughout the school
year, each offering a variety of activities and experiences that
respond to children’s natural curiosity and interests. Preschool
children may spend an afternoon in “Animal Adventures,”
observing and befriending live animals, while Elementary students
take a class in hip hop dance. Each cycle of classes offers a range
of activities to spark or further the interests of Kingsley’s
student population. Kingsley also offers private lessons for piano
and a range of musical instruments depending on interest.
The After-School Program is available from the close of the school
day, starting at 2:45 pm for Preschool students and 3 pm for Elementary
students, and running until 6 pm each afternoon in both Preschool
and Elementary. Families may choose to enroll their children in
the After-School Program for 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 days. Most Enrichment
Classes are offered between 3 and 4:30 pm. Enrichment classes and
private lessons are billed separately from the After-School Program.
