Director of Early Childhood

Welcoming Kate Murphy Kausch, M.S. as our next Director of Early Childhood

March 27, 2017
We are delighted to announce and welcome Kate Murphy Kausch, M.S. as our next Director of Early Childhood.

After a professionally led national search and an in-house search committee made up of parents and faculty, we could not be more pleased with Kate’s credentials and extensive background with early childhood education for this key leadership position. Kate has a decade of leadership and supervisory experience with toddler and preschool age children, most recently at the ASUU Child Care Center at the University of Utah. Kate received her B.A. in Psychology from Wheaton College and her M.S. in Early Childhood Development and Intervention from Wheelock College.

Kate brings a great deal of experience working with parents of young children, hiring and supervising teachers, conducting observations, performing evaluations, and monitoring progress toward program and professional goals. “I am honored to be able to work alongside dedicated educators, learn from them, and partner with them to ensure every member of our team feels valued and has the space to continue to meet their own professional goals,” remarked Kate. She and her family are eager to return to Boston where she grew up, attended graduate school, and where her family currently resides.

According to Kate: “From the very first time I learned about Kingsley, it was clear that this was a special learning community with a true focus on each unique child throughout the most critical and foundational early years. Once I was able to observe the classrooms, seeing true Montessori flow in action left me in awe. I saw children with such confidence and pride in their classroom, along with gentle guidance and space provided by their teachers, allowing each child to construct their own pace of learning. I was equally impressed with the elementary program and could immediately visualize and “see” the Foundational Decade of learning that is the mission of Kingsley.”

Thank you so much to the Search Committee parent members, teacher members, and Trustees who participated in the final process.

“I so look forward to being a part of the wonderful and passionate Kingsley community and building on the legacy already in place,” said Kate.
