 Swan Mai joined Kingsley Montessori School in 2003 as a Teaching Intern. In 2004, Swan attained the American Montessori Society (AMS) Early Childhood Certification from Northeast Montessori Institute, in Beverly, MA. Swan received a Masters of Education degree focusing on Montessori education from Endicott College, in Beverly, MA in 2005. Swan also holds a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in Economics from St. Edward University, in Austin, TX.
Swan is currently researching brain-based theories and patterns in the Montessori Method. Her interest is in different viewpoints and perspectives on how the human brain functions, particularly what is happening in our brains when we learn. Swan’s goal is to strengthen learning conditions in children by synthesizing the Montessori method and brain-based pedagogy techniques. Swan is currently a Head teacher in the Preschool program.
