Community Speaker Series

The Community Speaker Series at Kingsley was established to provide an educational forum where parents and faculty, colleagues and neighbors are invited to hear and  interact with respected experts in a variety of fields. Focusing on education, parenting, and child development issues, the series offers eight to ten programs each year. The programs are free of charge and open to the public.    

Our distinguished speakers - from the legendary Harvard professor and thinker Dr. Howard Gardner through thought-provoking authors, psychologists, and learning specialists to our very own Kingsley educators - enrich our community with knowledge, ideas, and inspired conversation.  

Past programs include “The Reading Brain” by Nadine Gaap, Ph.D; “Top Twelve Suggestions for Raising Our Boys” by Michael Thompson, PhD; “Growing Strong Girls” by Catherine Steiner-Adair; “Five Minds for the Future” by Dr. Howard Gardner; “Negotiation Generation” by Lynn Griffin, RN, MEd.; “Imbalance of Family Power” by Beth Grosshans; “What Makes a Montessori School” by Peter Larrow; “NurtureShock” by Ashley Merryman; “Executive Function” by Margaret Sheridan, PhD; and “From the Terrific Twos to Talkative Teens” by Charles Nelson III, PhD.
