The Preschool building is located at 30 Fairfield Street, at the
corner of Commonwealth Avenue, and is a grand, four-story brick
townhouse that was the former homestead for the Salstonstall family.
The gracious home was originally designed in 1886 and is often referred
to as “school away from home,” alluding to its warm
and welcoming atmosphere. The surrounding Back Bay neighborhood
is noted for stunning townhouses, parks and cultural resources and
is adjacent to Boston's famous Newbury Street and historic Fenway
Park.
During the summer of 2005, the Fairfield Street building was renovated
to include six primary classrooms, including our new Toddler room
on the garden level. The Fairfield campus is now home to our primary
program, for children between the ages of 3-6 years, and our Toddler
program for nine 2-year-olds. Each classroom is equipped with beautiful
Montessori materials and technology resources. The facility is uniquely
designed for preschool age children and their curriculum, including
a new gross motor/activity room, a multi-purpose activity space
for dance, yoga, special programs and assemblies, a science lab
and a library.
Enrollment at the Preschool building is 101 students.
Our Admissions Office is located at the Fairfield Street building.
